What is Phonics ? Why is it important ?
Phonics is teaching sounds of the alphabet and combinations of them. Phonics involves the relationship between sounds and written symbols.
Phonics involves matching the sounds of spoken English with individual letters or groups of letters. For example, the sound k can be spelled as c, k, ck or ch.
Teaching children to blend the sounds of letters together helps them decode unfamiliar or unknown words by sounding them out.
Phonics are essential in all parts of English but especially reading and spelling. A good early foundation is an important part of development.
